Comfort Levels Among Credit Card Holders

BAIGlobal reports findings from its recent survey of credit card holders regarding their willingness to use their cards. For the entire sample of credit card holders, 81 percent said that they were comfortable when using their card in person. While 31 percent felt confidant using their card over the phone, only 15 percent of the entire sample said that they would be comfortable in using the card on the Internet. In contrast, among the subgroup of online buyers, 47 percent felt comfortable using their credit cards online, as well as over the phone. The research suggests that online sellers face a considerable psychological hurdle before they tap the large body of cautious credit card holders.
