Nextcard and Experian to Offer
Credit Report Monitoring Service

Experian Information Solutions, Inc. will partner with Internet card issuer NextCard to offer consumers an online credit report monitoring service. The new product will let consumers check their credit reports as many times as they wish for a set fee. It will also offer tips on improving credit ratings, various repayment calculators, and an opportunity to challenge credit report errors online. One version of the product currently being tested offers a one-year subscription for $69.99. The American Banker reports that Experian has agreed to let NextCard offer the product exclusively for two months, after which other card issuers will be able to offer it as well. NextCard is one of the Internet's most active advertisers. The new service will allow NextCard to offer a product even to customers who decide not to apply for or are rejected for a NextCard.
