Fast Food on Credit

Beginning this year, McDonald Corp. will be accepting credit and debit cards for their burgers and fries. Other fast-food chains are expected to follow suit. According to the article in the Wall Street Journal by Shirley Leung and Ron Lieber, other fast-food chains are likely to join the trend. The basic rationale is that customers prefer to carry credit cards rather than cash. It is more convenient to pay with credit cards and, besides, they might earn frequent flyer miles or cash-back rewards. There are also benefits from the restaurant's point of view. According to the consulting firm, Sandleman & Associates (Villa Park, CA), customers save time when paying their bills.
