Huge Demand for Fico ScoresLet there be no doubt, consumers are interested in their credit scores. As we reported in a previous issue of Spotlight, Fair, Isaac & Co. (FICO) recently teamed with Equifax to introduce an online site for selling FICO credit scores. In the first 90 days that the product was available online, the two Web sites where the product is being sold received a total of over 40 million visits. Fair, Isaac developed a product called ScorePower that delivers a consumer's Equifax credit report, FICO score and Fair, Isaac's guide to the score for $12.95. Also available is an annual subscription to ScorePower which provides the same information up to four times a year for $38.85. Neither company would reveal how many of those 40 million visitors ended up purchasing a score product. However, Cheri St. John, vice president and general manager of global alliances at Fair, Isaac said "we tried to prepare for a high volume, but we were actually surprised that the demand was greater than expected."
